Artist Statement

This piece is a representation of the world today.  The ocean covers 70% of the world and water is what is necessary to sustain life on any planet.  With the ocean affecting everyone no mater if you live on a coast line or nowhere near the ocean the effects of throwing plastic into rivers, streams and water ways eventually end up in the ocean.  Today there are many efforts to clean up plastic from the ocean making it cleaner for the wildlife and people who go and swim in the water.

This piece consists of plastic bags in the shape of jellyfish.  plastic bags are one of the things that sea life mistake for food because it moves very similar to what they are user to eating.  The videos that are being displayed is footage from scuba diving in the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.  the footage of being displayed is protected parts and there are many beautiful coral reefs.  The  point of putting beautiful videos on trash is to represent what our oceans will soon become if we as people don't change the way we treat the oceans.
