Chapter 3 Reflection

This chapter talked about the power of pure darkness which I found very interesting.  Early in the chapter they talk about a room completely filled with darkness after viewers entered.  Some viewers stated that being immersed in pure darkness was like having a black sheet right in front of their face making them have a surreal feeling.  Then when a light came on they talked about not knowing where their own body was.  The fact that being in place with pure darkness can transport you to a different state of mind.

As I have said before the fact that art has the power to make our brains feel like we are in a different world.  much like in Chapter two how light played a big part in what the different installations were, pure darkness is being put in and making the views brain feel a whole new thing.  I would like to feel how it is to be in pure darkness because I think it would be like having an out of body experience.
