Chapter 4 Reflection

Much of Chapter four discusses the political thinking the viewers have while observing art.  this idea of having a political opinion about a piece or pieces of art make the artwork resonate even louder with certain views more than others.  I think it is pretty interesting that a piece of art can elevate a persons political view point or opinion.  although pieces of art have always had a way of bring out peoples political opinions since the earliest pieces of art.

I find that art pieces should have a political view point, but should not be the main meaning of the piece itself.  In my own experience when political views are brought in there always seems to be some sort of disagreement or controversy.  I also thought that the fact installation art is more political and ethical implications than more traditional styles.  I would be interested in figuring out why this is.  This is because more traditional artwork deals with these political ideas.
