Artist Research 3

I chose Richard Long for my artist research.  Many of the things he does I also enjoy doing, which include photography, web design and video editing.  Looking at many of his pieces his photography pieces are very pleasant to look at.  The angles at which he uses to take the photos give the piece a nice juxtaposition with what is being displayed in the background.

Brownstone Circle which was displayed in New York City is very cool.  The circle is on the sidewalk of New York City making it look like rubble in front of skyscrapers.  The choice to place this circle in front of the buildings I think gives a much deeper meaning to the piece.  The brownstones have a primitive feel to it and putting this in the foreground of the industrial skyline of New York it makes the piece collide with different styles.
